Hi, I'm Heather—the Proprietor & Creative Director at wild at heart salon. I bring an Environmental Science degree to hair color—I specialize in balayage that grows out like you planned it, color correction that actually fixes disasters, and running a salon that doesn't trash the planet. Great hair shouldn't cost your health or the environment.

My Background:

I've been in the hair industry since 2002—working as a Network Educator for Bumble and bumble, an Educational Artist for L'Oréal Professionnel, and co-owning salons for over a decade. In 2018, I went back to school and earned my degree in Environmental Science and Policy from St. Edward's University because I wanted to bring actual chemistry knowledge to the work I was already doing. That combination—20+ years of industry experience plus scientific understanding—informs everything at Wild at Heart, from choosing low-ammonia color lines to understanding what actually creates healthy, lasting color. I'm passionate about proving that beautiful results don't have to compromise your hair health or the environment.

The Space:

Wild at Heart is located near Shoal Creek and Anderson in North Austin. The salon has a hygge-zen-meets-Texas vibe—warm, plant-filled, and calming. Stations are spaced far apart in an open, well-lit layout, so your appointment feels private and unhurried. As a booth rental salon, each stylist is an independent business owner bringing their own expertise and style to the space. We currently have 2 part-time chairs and 2 full-time chair available for experienced stylists.
